Interlake-Eastern RHA CEO Departs for New Position

RHA’s Board of Directors to appoint acting CEO

Diane Kelly, chair of Interlake-Eastern RHA, announced today that the RHA’s chief executive officer, John Stinson, has accepted the position of chief executive officer for Manitoba Liquor and Lotteries Corporation. Stinson’s last day with the RHA will be February 13, 2015.

“A few weeks ago John spoke with me about his opportunity with Manitoba Liquor and Lotteries and how things were moving much faster than he anticipated. I must admit that I was surprised by his news but I recognized the significant opportunity that had been placed before John. I acted as a reference for him and, while I am sad to see him go, I do understand his choice in taking advantage of this opportunity,” Kelly said.

The RHA has started the recruitment process for a new CEO. In the interim the board will appoint an acting CEO that will be announced in January.

Stinson says his move to a new role after what will be almost three years with Interlake-Eastern RHA is bittersweet.

“I’ve invested more than 25 years in the fields of health and social services and while I am looking forward to my new role, it’s difficult shutting a door on something that has been such a big part of my life. Those who’ve worked with me know that I’m passionate about health care and, as CEO, I’d spend my days with people inside and outside our organization who shared that passion. I’m really going to miss those people who inspired me every day to find ways to improve what we do in health care,” Stinson said.
