January 4, 2016 — Interlake-Eastern Regional Health Authority (RHA) welcomed the first baby of 2016 at Selkirk & District General Hospital on Saturday, January 2, 2016.

Weighing eight pounds 11 ounces, Keltie Lena Eyolfson was born January 2 at 8:37 p.m. to mom Kristyn and dad Brett Eyolfson of Riverton.

The Eyolfson’s are looking forward to returning home to introduce baby Keltie to older siblings, Madden and Deklen. They thank Dr. Speer for attending the delivery and hospital staff members for the care they received. The auxiliary and staff at the hospital presented the family with a gift basket and play pen.

According to Odete Williams, clinical team manager of obstetrics at Selkirk & District General Hospital, staff have reported the number of deliveries at the hospital this past year is consistent with previous years.

“There were 290 babies born at the hospital in Selkirk in 2015. We hope to surpass that number over the next year period,” Williams said.

Interlake-Eastern RHA extends its best wishes and congratulations to the Eyolfson family on the birth of their daughter.
