Leadership Team Biographies

 

 Ron2  Ron Van Denakker
Chief Executive Officer

Ron has been in health care for over thirty years, the last 15 in various leadership positions including technical director of diagnostic imaging, administrative director of child health, vice president business development and executive director of the Wellness Institute. His background includes an undergraduate degree in design and a masters in health care administration. Ron is a strong believer in customer service and a respectful workplace.

Vice President of Acute Care and Chief Nursing Officer

Marion (RN, BScN, MN) has over 20 years’ nursing leadership experience comprising 17 years of senior leadership experience including the positions of executive director of clinical services for the Northern RHA and vice president of acute care & chief nursing officer for the former Burntwood RHA. She began her nursing career in the United Kingdom, where she graduated with a diploma in nursing. In addition, she completed her BScN with distinction from Brandon University. Marion has also completed her master's degree in nursing administration from the University of Manitoba. She has a proven reputation for establishing effective leadership and management teams, as well as engaging communities and staff in working towards improved health outcomes and safe patient care.




Dorothy Forbes 
 Dorothy Forbes, CPA
Vice President Finance & Chief Financial Officer (Acting)

Dorothy has 20 years of experience in the accounting field, including roles in the public accounting, agriculture and finance sectors. In 2011, she joined the health region as an analyst and moved into the regional director of financial services role within six months. During this time, she has led many projects within the region, including the amalgamation of both the finance and payroll departments during 2012 merger. 

Karen Stevens-Chambers  Karen Stevens-Chambers
Vice President Community Services & Chief Allied Health Officer

Karen has worked in the community sector for 30 years providing expertise in home care, palliative care, seniors housing and seniors community programs and has spent the last 10 years serving as our regional director of home and palliative care services. During this time, she was seconded to Manitoba eHealth for two years and more recently by Manitoba Health to work on the support unit addressing recommendations from the July 2015 Auditor General’s Report on home care in Manitoba. She has a background in human resource management and is a graduate of the LEADS leadership development program.

Karen is a longtime resident of our region and is pleased to represent the community portfolio for the Interlake-Eastern RHA.


Myron  Dr. Myron Thiessen
Vice President Primary Health Care & Chief Medical Officer

Myron grew up in the Roseau River area of Manitoba and graduated from the University of Manitoba Faculty of Medicine in 1988. He joined the Steinbach Family Medical Clinic in 1990 and practiced medicine full-time until 2008 when he reduced his practice to part-time because he joined the former South Eastman RHA as their part-time VP Medical Services. He moved to a full-time VP Medical Services role with South Eastman RHA in March 2012 and remained VP Medical Services with Southern RHA after the RHA amalgamations in May 2012.

Myron has held various leadership roles as President of Medical Staff and then Chief of Staff at Steinbach's Bethesda Hospital. Most recently, he has been accredited as a Canadian Certified Physician Executive, one of only a handful of physicians in Manitoba who have achieved this Canadian Medical Association designation.

 Randy Dallinger  Randy Dallinger
Vice President of Human Resources
  
Prior to joining Interlake-Eastern RHA, Randy was with Diagnostic Services of Manitoba (DSM) as their director of human resources. In addition to DSM, Randy worked as a board officer for the Manitoba Labour Board and was a manager in labour relations with Air Canada and several other key human resource related positions over the years.
   
 Ron Janzen  Ron Janzen
Vice President of Corporate Services

Ron’s career in healthcare began in 2000 as a Chief Financial Officer. Since then he has held roles including Chief Information Officer and Vice President Corporate Services. Ron has enjoyed a career with several different sectors including independent schools and public school divisions, financial institutions (credit union), national charitable organizations, self- employment and an international relief and development agency (NGO). His career has taken him to many interesting and challenging places around the world.
