Community health assessments are conducted in Manitoba’s RHAs on a regular basis to identify where we need to establish priorities to improve our residents’ health status. The goals of the community health assessment are to:
Understand the health of Manitoba’s residentsIdentify and respond to local issuesPlan health services informed by evidenceTrack changes over time
Community Health Assessments help us take the guesswork out of identifying health assets and needs. They encourages community participation in taking active approaches to managing health since they provide the information we need to raise awareness and understanding of a community’s health status. The information we collect guides policy and program development provincially and regionally and it helps us prioritize our services.
