NOTICE of RELOCATION- Selkirk Regional Health Centre

I am pleased to announce that Selkirk and District General Hospital will soon be moving to our newly constructed Selkirk Regional Health Centre. Effective June 25, 2017, we will begin taking patients at Selkirk Regional Health Centre. Our new address will be:

Selkirk Regional Health Centre
P.O. Box 5000, 120 Easton Drive
Selkirk, Manitoba   R1A 2M2

The main phone number remains the same: (204) 482-5800 and departments and services will retain their current numbers with the move.

The new health centre was planned to create an environment that promotes well-being, that is safe, that considers sustainability and the efficient flow of people, information and materials. Local communities contributed to ensuring it reflects the area’s history and culture and it incorporates leading practices in health care gathered from across North America to ensure its long-term sustainability.

We are able to better accommodate the needs of the area’s residents with more beds and over 180,000 ft2 of care in a state-of-the-art, patient-centered environment. The new health centre will provide the region’s first MRI, a family birthing unit, out-patient centre, expanded operating rooms, expanded emergency department with drive through ambulance bays and improved dialysis and chemotherapy areas. To improve patient comfort and privacy, more than 80 per cent of the patient rooms are private.

Most of the existing departments and specialty areas will be relocated to the new health centre, with the exception of the audiology department that will continue to be based at the Selkirk and District General Hospital until further notice.

Interlake-Eastern Regional Health Authority recognizes and thanks each program partner, staff member, physician and volunteer for their contributions to the planning of the new health centre and our long anticipated move into Manitoba’s newest regional health centre. There are many aspects in this new facility that will enhance our delivery of care and we are very excited to offer our new and improved services to the residents of our region very soon.
