RCMP have confirmed they are still investigating the incident that led to the Code White being called in Pine Falls Health Complex.


Tuesday, April 10

Code White – containment protocol is no longer in
place in Pine Falls Health Complex.

The primary health care clinic, Giigewigamig traditional healing centre, hospital, personal care home and laboratory are now open to the public. Regular hours for the facility are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Visiting of patients and residents in the personal care home has resumed. 

The emergency department remains on suspended service with ambulance diversion. 

Increased security presence has been added to
Pine Falls Health Complex. The regional health authority is maintaining one point of entrance, the emergency department doors, to the hospital and emergency department after hours.

RCMP is confirming the status of the investigation regarding threats against health care providers.

La GRC a confirmé qu’elle enquête toujours sur l’incident qui a mené à la mise à exécution du code blanc au sein du Pine Falls Health Complex.


Le mardi 10 avril

Code blanc – Le protocole de confinement n’est plus en place au Pine Falls Health Complex.

La clinique de soins primaires, le centre de soins traditionnels Giigewigamig, l’hôpital, le foyer de soins personnels et le laboratoire sont maintenant ouverts au public. Les heures normales de l’établissement sont de 8 h 30 à 16 h 30. Il est de nouveau possible de rendre visite aux patients et résidents du foyer de soins personnels.

Le service d’urgence continue de suspendre ses services avec déroutement d’ambulances.

Une présence accrue en matière de personnel de sécurité a été ajoutée au Pine Falls Health Complex. Après les heures d’ouverture, l’ORS maintient un point d'entrée unique, à savoir les portes du service d'urgence menant vers l'hôpital et le service d’urgence.

La GRC confirme l’état d’avancement de l’enquête se rapportant aux menaces contre les prestataires de soins de santé.

Code White – containment protocol continues at Pine Falls Health Complex and will continue overnight to Tuesday. The security status will be reevaluated on Tuesday.

Health care services have not resumed in Pine Falls Health Complex.

RCMP continue to investigate the threats that were made against health care providers on Friday, April 6.

Interlake-Eastern RHA senior leaders have met with care providers in Pine Falls. The RHA is working to put additional security measures in place that will assure patients, residents, their families and health care providers that they are safe while in the Pine Falls Health Complex once health care service delivery resumes.

Health care services have not resumed in Pine Falls Health Complex. 

Interlake-Eastern Regional Health Authority's senior leaders are working with stakeholders to resume delivery of services as quickly as possible while continuing to ensure the safety of patients, residents, staff and physicians. 

People are being advised to dial 911 or their local number for emergency medical services in the event of an emergency.

Sunday, April 8

Saturday, April 7

Health care services have not resumed in Pine Falls Health Complex. 

There will be no physicians in the emergency department over the weekend.

Friday, April 6

At 10 a.m. this morning, members of our care team in Pine Falls Health Complex received threats to their safety and security.

All staff, physicians, residents and patients are safe.

RCMP have been on-site and investigated the threat.

To ensure the safety of our staff, residents and patients, Interlake-Eastern RHA has activated a Code White containment protocol in the Pine Falls Health Complex that includes the hospital, traditional healing centre and personal care home. All external doors have been locked with one point of entry and exit that is monitored by security personnel.

At this time, no members of the public are being seen to provide health care services at Pine Falls hospital, clinic or lab. Ambulances are being diverted to other emergency departments.

Managers in the facility have been in touch with residents and patients and their families to advise of the situation and identify that visiting is suspended until further notice.

Health care services in Pine Falls will resume once RCMP and Interlake-Eastern RHA management have confirmed it is safe to do so.
