Good nutrition is important during the COVID-19 pandemic to stay healthy and support your immune system. Find tips below for healthy eating, safe shopping, and more.

 REMEMBER YOUR LOCAL FOOD BANK

If you are in need, there are local food banks in our region that may be able to help.

If you are able to give, consider contacting your local food bank to see how they would like to receive donations (cash donations or product donations). Different food banks may have different protocols in place at this time. Your local grocery stores may also be taking food bank donations.

Please call your local food bank for more details as their procedures may be different right now.

GROCERY SHOP SAFELY

Plan ahead and make a shopping list, prepare to consider alternatives if items on your list are not available

  • Order groceries online or by phone and do curbside pickup or delivery if possible
  • Shop alone and leave children at home, if possible
  • Where possible, shop for groceries once a week
  • Respect store hours reserved for seniors and immunocompromised people
  • Sanitize hands before and after shopping
  • Practice safe physical distancing when shopping and standing in line
  • Only touch the food and products that you plan to buy
  • Be careful to not touch your face, mouth, or eyes while shopping
  • Use touchless payment when possible
  • Wash your hands as soon as you arrive home and after you unload your groceries
