05/29/13 New Physician Accepting Patients in Arborg
May 29, 2013—Dr. George Ishak, general practitioner, has joined physicians practicing in the Arborg Medical Centre.
“I am very grateful of this opportunity to practice medicine in Canada. I enjoy living and working in Arborg, it is a very nice and welcoming community. People here are friendly and I am glad to be their family doctor. My goal as a family physician is to act as a resource to promote the quality of life of the community and patients,” Dr. Ishak said.
Originally from Egypt, Dr. Ishak practiced medicine for more than 15 years before coming to Canada. Most recently he worked in the emergency room and clinic of one of Egypt's charitable hospitals dealing with conditions commonly found in Manitoba's clinics and hospitals. He also has experience in the emergency room of Egypt's military hospitals where he treated officers and soldiers in who'd experienced insect and snake bites, handgun/rifle injuries, trauma, and soft tissue and bone injuries.
“We are very happy to have Dr. Ishak joining us Arborg,” said Dr. Cary Chapnick, Interlake-Eastern RHA's associate vice-president of medicine who worked to bring Dr. Ishak to the region. “By accepting new patients, he's providing residents of Arborg and surrounding area with a new option and he will ease the pressure on the other physicians in the medical centre.”
When's he's not at work, you'll likely find Dr. Ishak unwinding outdoors playing soccer, biking and bird watching or watching a movie. He also enjoys table tennis and bowling.

Dr. Ishak has already started practicing. To make an appointment, contact 204-376-2781 or e-mail
