The uncertified health care aide is a member of the health care team, working under the direction of the Registered Nurse and /or Licensed Practical Nurse. The health care aide is responsible for performing and assisting with duties related to meeting client/patient/resident personal needs in accordance with the established policies and procedures.

The laundry aide performs the assigned duties in accordance with established work schedules, policies and procedures and safe work procedures. They are responsible for ordering supplies, chemicals, linens and maintaining inventory counts, identifying facility linen and personal clothing and selecting damaged clothing/linen to repair and completes required mending.

The maintenance worker is responsible for the completion of the daily, weekly and monthly maintenance schedules as set up by the Facility Management team. This includes: maintaining the facility grounds in an acceptable manner including grass cutting, weed control, flower planting and snow removal ensure all exits and entrances are free from ice and snow, particularly those pertaining to emergency evacuation routes. Carries out major and minor building renovations including general carpentry, painting, plastering, electrical, plumbing, pneumatic or electronic controls, and equipment maintenance.

The home care attendant provides personal and supportive care following the care plan, policies and program standards meeting identified needs to enable the clients to remain independent and safe in their homes for as long as possible. In collaboration with other heath team members, the home care attendant promotes integrated holistic health care services that are responsive to the needs of the residents of the Interlake-Eastern region.

The housekeeping aide is responsible for maintaining a safe, clean and aesthetically pleasing environment for patients/residents, families, visitors and staff, replenishes supplies as required, sweeping, wet mopping, vacuuming and disinfecting and other tasks as defined by work routines.

The cook/dietary aide is responsible for the daily operation The dietary aide preps and serves food to patients/ residents, staff, volunteers, Meals on Wheels, Supportive Housing, Adult Day, visitors, and catering and complies with standards, policy and procedures and health regulations. They also do dishwashing, cleaning and equipment maintenance as required, peeling and cutting fruits and vegetables, assisting with daily dish up, preparing breakfast and snacks.

The recreation facilitator is a member of the health care team and is responsible for the quality of life for residents on both an individual and group basis. The recreation facilitator is flexible and able to function effectively in a dynamic health care environment. they assist with the planning of recreation programs according to the identified needs and interests of individual residents’ residing in the personal care home. They also assist with individual recreation care plans as assigned by the recreation coordinator.

The receptionist/ typist is the initial contact for the Primary Health Care Centre. They are responsible for assisting providers and staff with clerical and reception duties and
maintenance of accurate health records consistent with policies and procedures. In addition, the individual will also undertake responsibility for specific projects as assigned. The position requires the ability to provide confidential clerical functions and to maintain an excellent rapport with staff and the public. They are responsible for answering the telephone, making appointments, referring calls and taking messages.
