Services to Seniors
Support Services to Seniors assists communities in the development of services that will support seniors in their independence in the community. Community developed, community run services such as congregate meals, grocery shopping, transportation, and home maintenance may be offered through the Support Services to Seniors program. Specific services will vary from community to community.
Seniors programs focus on health promotion and maintenance of independent living. Support Services to Seniors works along side Home Care Services in the community with the goal of enabling clients to remain in their own homes. Programs are provided which assist clients to achieve and maintain health, well-being and personal independence. Support Services to Seniors focus is on wellness and support.

Mental Health Services for the Elderly
Interlake-Eastern Regional Health Authority’s Mental Health Services for the Elderly Program is a multi-disciplinary program that provides assessment and treatment recommendations for older adults with mental health concerns and/or cognitive difficulties affecting their daily life activities. For residents who reside within the Interlake-Eastern Regional Health Authority, consultation and collaboration occur with the individual, family and other service providers involved to offer the best person-focused care possible.

Community Resource Councils
Seniors community resource councils are non-profit organizations that provide services in the community by coordinating volunteers and fee-for-service workers to assist seniors and persons with disabilities to maintain their independence in the community. Services coordinated by seniors community resource councils allow seniors to remain in their homes for as long as possible and may include transportation to medical appointments, social events, house cleaning, yard work/minor maintenance, snow removal, friendly visiting and referrals to appropriate agencies. Seniors community resource councils may also organize health and wellness events, fraud and safety programs, safe driving courses and falls prevention programs and manage Victoria Lifeline personal response service among others.
